I really think the top 8 are starting to make themselves clear. Kentucky has put some distance between them and UNC for that last spot on the 2 line. Purdue, who the analytics love, got a huge win against Michigan State who is playing really good basketball. Washington is starting to climb the rankings as well getting to road wins in the state of Oregon last week. The bottom of the bubble is just ugly. No one is doing anything to separate themselves. Temple, Arizona, Arizona State, Florida, UCF, Butler, Alabama, Baylor (might be playing the best of the bunch after a bad start to the year), Seton Hall and Minnesota are all so close, and non of them have a resume that stand out.

Nebraska, who I was really high on, had a bad loss at Rutgers, and Buffalo suffered a loss at Northern Illinois. Unfortunately for Buffalo, they don’t have a chance to get good wins to make up for it like Nebraska does. A couple more losses and they will be a bubble team. The terrors of being a mid major coach. Kansas State with four Tier 1 wins in a row is playing some great basketball. With Dean Wade back and Barry Brown Jr. playing his best basketball this team could climb to a top 4 seed and see themselves in the Elite 8 again.

Bracketology Update #10

What an exciting day of college basketball it was yesterday. Virginia and Duke was as good as advertised, can’t wait for the rematch. The bubble is getting messier and messier. UCF did not do themselves a favor with a loss at Wichita St. and almost losing at home to Tulsa. The loss to Tulsa would have been devastating. Kansas St. is moving themselves off the bubble and climbing the seed list.

Bracketology

A lot of good games this week. Tomorrow Michigan St. vs Nebraska should be really. Saturday is LOADED. Duke/Virginia, Michigan/Wisconsin, and Kentucky/Auburn should all be really entertaining. Virginia is the overall #1 seed right now, after that it gets really close. The bubble team I took a closer look at is Wofford. They are 14-4 and the analytics say the deserve to be in. All their losses are going Tier 1. UNC @home, and Mississippi State, Kansas and Oklahoma on the road. Nothing wrong with those losses at all. The problem is even if they go undefeated until the conference championship they are only going to have Tier 2 wins over UNG-Greensboro and East Tennessee St.. It will be interesting to see how the bubble shapes up, but I hope for Terriers sake they win the conference tournament and remove all doubt.

Bracket Update #8

Florida State almost knocked off Duke, but after a 5 minute last 2.8 seconds of the game they left Reddish wide open for a 3. Mississippi went on the road to Mississippi State and got a huge win. They are moving up my rankings. PAC-12 is moving down, they may only get 1 team in the tourney which seems unreal.
