Bracketology Update 2/12

Eventually Oklahoma is going to have to win some conference games to get in. If they finish 4 games under .500 in the conference I’m not sure how you put them in without a run in the conference tourney.

Bracketology (1st After NET release)

The committee released their first 16 on Saturday morning. Very few surprises, and most had 15 of 16, and rankings weren’t alarming by any means. Houston and Nevada were the teams we were all waiting to see, and I thought they fairly ranked. Duke put an exclamation point on their #1 overall seed with a win at Virginia

Bracketology 2/7

I was excited as an Illinois State fan to be able to put them into my bracket. Unfortunately, it only lasted one game as they laid an egg and Loyola is back in as my Missouri Valley team. Excited for Saturday when we will get our first look at the committee’s top 16. Will change a lot of formulas, finally seeing how they use NET.

Bracketology 2/4

I know I’m not the only one on Saturday who saw the NC State/Virginia Tech score and thought it was a mistake. NC State is definitely glad they moved away from the RPI and to NET. They are 34 in NET but would have been 125th in RPI. Being 0-5 against Quad 1 (I would count their Auburn win as a Quad 1) really hurts their resume. The bubble is really weak so I still have them in, but only by the slimmest of margins. The committee will announce their top 16 on Saturday and we will find out how much they use NET. Until then, we are all just guessing.
